Dcom proxy app not using allocated ports...

Hi we're trying to connect to a server application on a win 2003 server from
a proxy application on a win 2003 server but the application proxy machine
doesn't seem to connect on the specified dynamic ports. When we use the same
proxy app from a win 2000 box it works just fine.
Does anyone know what can be the problem?
