we need more information to help. What's the subnet IP range and gateway. Or
post the result of ipconfig /all with DHCP settings.

Hello nicolas29,

Please post an ipconfig /all from the 2008 DC and also from one existing
DC in the remote office. What do you mean with ping the subdomain/maindomain,
the subdomain/maindomain name itself or an existing server there? Please
post also the domain names you use.

Best regards

Hello Nt,

Thank you for posting here. Also thanks for all your input.

According to your description, I understand that:

You promote a new Windows Server 2008 domain controller into a domain in
the main site. Then you attempt to move the DC to another site.

If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Suggestions:
===================
More information such as IPCONFIG /all on the Windows Server 2003 R2 DC and
problematic Windows Server 2008 DC will help to understand your
environment.

From the description, it seems to be a network connectivity issue. Please
check the following aspects:

1. For domain controller, please assign a static IP address with the
gateway and DNS settings instead of using the dynamic IP lease from DHCP
service.
2. The gateway address should be the router that can route the traffic to
the main site (such as a VPN connection to the main site).

More information about the multiple site deployment, you may refer to:

Information needed:
===================

If the issue persists, please help to collect the Directory Service MPS
report on the Windows Server 2003 R2 DC and problematic Windows Server 2008
DC. Then send to me at (E-Mail Removed).

b. We will continue to discuss the issue here in the forum and will NOT

c. Pease post a quick note in the current thread to inform me after sending
the email.

Thanks.
