I have a win serv 2003 with a daul nic card. I wnat to help the machine get
as much traffic through it as possible so if i assign 2 static internal ip
addresses on the same subnet with the same default gateway will the machine
then load balance or no? Or will just send traffic over 1 nic? and if that
maxes out then over the second? Or will this not work this simply.

No you need to see if your NICs support teaming.

Google adapter teaming. Note: your backbone switch must support one of the
adapter teaming protocols.
