Data Rate does not fluctuate with distance

Hi,

I have a portable WiFi device that connects to my MN-500
just fine at 11Mbps. Both units are set to "Auto" for
data rate yet the data rate will stay pegged at 11Mbps
regadless of distance and I am loosing the connection at
fairly short range. I'm hoping that if I can figure out
how to get them to automatically lower the rate, I might
get more range... Why isn't the auto data rate working?

Any ideas?

Try the setting on the router, maybe it's set to 11Mbps
and not to "Auto".

So now we have someone pretending to be me. I guess it must be someone
who is thin-skinned & has never been given a hard time before.

I'm not sure why you are having this problem. When I supported the
MN-500 I did notice that whatever speed I set the wireless to in the
router it would always go back to the auto. As far as why it is giving
you this issue I'm not sure.

I don't ever recall an issue like this occurring either.
