D-Link (model 514 vs model 614+)

Does anyone know if the D-Link model 614+ is being phased out
in favor of the D-Link model 514?

(There are very few differences between these 2 models...the 614+
has just a few nicer features, and the prices on these 2 models are
virtually identical.)

It seems in just the last 2 or 3 weeks, stores such as Office Depot
and Best Buy and CompUSA no longer have any 614+ models in stock and now
are stocking up on loads of model 514s. (This 514 must be what they
are 'pushing' for the holidays!?)

Damn! I've called all these stores within a 50 mile radius (here in greater
Tampa Bay area) and NONE of them have a 614+ in stock.
(I prefer to buy in a retail store even if I pay $10 or $20 more, just for
the convenience option of being able to return the unit easily if I'm
not happy with it.)

Anybody know what's going on with the shortage of 614+ models?
(Or know a store in greater Sarasota area that has a 614+ in stock?)

TIA...

Dave

The 514 is the older model. IT is the one that is being "phased out"

I have a 614+, finally found one at an office max. The shortage
seems to be due to the rebates, my actual "cost" after rebate was
like $10...

Oh, it works great btw. Just keep looking and you'll find one.
