D-Link G650 VXD errors

I've got the above card, and installed the latest 98
driver from D-Link's website, but I can't get the card
going. It is recognised by Device Manager, and has had
the relevant protocols assigned to it. Device Manager
gives the following error though:

"The NDIS.VXD, NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this
device could not load the device driver (code 2)"

The card is getting power from the PCMCIA slot, but D-
Link's configuration utility won't open, insisting
there's no card there.

What should I try?
