Has anyone seen this before? Whenever the card is enabled, there are
periodic spikes in cpu usage. Usually two or three per second,
sometimes one every couple of seconds. No pattern that I can see.
Makes the computer practically unusable.

In a different laptop, the card appears to work just fine. Also, I
tried a d-link dwl-650+ in this laptop and it works just fine. It
just seems to be this card in this laptop (this laptop is an hp
pavilion xz295, pentium 4m 1.6GHz, 768MB of RAM, win xp pro).

New drivers didn't help (for the card as well as the cardbus).
Uninstalled/Reinstalled many times to no avail. It's a new windows
installation, so there's nothing superfulous (sp?) on it yet.

I'm out of ideas. Any information/suggestions will help. Thanks.
FM
