Hi, I've had a D-Link DWL G510 Revision C NIC card for a while now and I
remember when I first got it, I managed to set it up as an access point.
Recently it has stopped working and I can't seem to get it to become an
access point again. Last time I used the Gigabyte SoftAP application
and just selected "Switch to SoftAP mode" when I right clicked on the
icon. However, this time around, that doesn't seem to be in the menu
and the application won't pick up my network card. It says:
GIGA-BYTE Wireless LAN Card
Not exist
when I hover my mouse over the tray icon.
This describes the process I used the first time: 'Ralink Soft AP -
PHWiki' (
http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/Ralink_niwifi)
And according to this: 'Ralink chipsets based wireless devices'
(
http://ralink.rapla.net/) my NIC is supposed to be supported.
Does anyone have any ideas on why its not picking up?
