d-link dwl-520 - shared key

I am having trouble getting this card to see my router once I set it to
shared key access. It will work with open with no problem. has anyone ever
ran into this issue?

Also, when I select SSID broadcast blocking, again, this same card cannot
see the router.

I have another pc that will work fine regardless of how I set the router.

Any suggestions?
