Hi there,
I've been experiencing BSOD crashes for some time now using the D-Link
card, only occurs when using p2p apps like WinMX/Emule. Normal surfing
activity is very stable.
First port of call was to look for updated drivers as I've heard reports of
other Wireless NIC solutions having the same problems .. Netgear springs to
mind.
Unfortunately the 510 was de-supported in April of this year. After
peeling the sticker of the chip on the card I see the card is in fact
Realtek 8180L based and it looks like Realtek are still providing updated
drivers on a regular basis.
Is there any way I can force Windows to use the Realtek drivers as opposed
to those supplied by D-Link? Or is there more to it than that?
I tried installing the drivers in the normal windows 'have disk' fashion
but it kept telling me "The specified location does not contain information
about your hardware"
Any help/advice would be much appreciated ...
Cheers!
A
