D-Link DSL504 console message query

Hi folks,

Had a good read around including Much Googling [1] and I've come to
the conclusion that nobody else seems to be having this problem.

Hardware is a rev A2 DSL504 running 2.21b2t18 firmware and config is
pretty bog-standard with the dhcp server and a couple of inbound ports
for web/ftp etc. DNS relay is off and upnp isn't needed. No rocket
scientists were harmed in the creation of this config.

Every so often, sometimes twice a day, sometimes once a month, but
nearly always when I'm not here, it stops responding to largely
outbound packets and reports 'Errorsend Failed' many times on the
console. Event log reports bugger all, as does 'event recent'

No mention at Trev's sentry.org either so I've mailed him too.

I've given up hassling D-Link; none of the spods I've spoken to have
been any help, and one or 2 of 'em seemed to think I was weird for
having a serial console on all the time!

Anyone seen this before?

I've been running my DSL-504 in pretty much the same config as yours and
I've never seen error messages like that (or at least I don't recollect it).

I've never had any sense out of D-Link's technical team. When I was getting
lots of crashes (a long time ago now fortunately) I used to send them
console dumps at every possible opportunity - not really with any hope that
they'd get back to me but more to let them know that their product was still
crashing regularly. Needless to say they didn't reply to many of my emails.

I hope you get it sorted - the DSL-504 is a good product when you get it
working.

Hi Martin,

Oddly, having posted that message it's stayed up, so fingers crossed!
I just wish there was some sort of noticeable pattern to it, but there
isn't. Light load or heavy load......

See what happens eh
