Does anyone have any possitive or negative experiences with the D-Link DI614
wireless router. My number one concern is reliability and stability.

Thanks,

I have the 614 and have had it now for over 1.5 years. I am posting this via
that router now. I have nothing but great things to say. It has tons of
features great for security that some of the others don't have. Things like
being able to turn broadcast SSID off, adjusting power output in 1/4
increments (to limit exposure outside the intended service area). My house
is 2000 Sq ft, and I can get the whole house, plus my outside back deck, and
I'm only running 50% power output.

I have had one for one week. So far working like a charm. My model is
DI-614+.

Now remember a week is not a long time, but so far so good. The only
problem is the the unit does not reach all areas of my house like the
linksys did.

I've had to stop using my DI-614+ (UK version) as it has "issues" with the
Centrino chipset (specifically the Intel 2100B WLAN) installed in my new
notebook. I know it's not a universal problem, but I've tried it with three
different manufacturers' notebooks and only one of them avoids BSOD crashes.
From what I can see, it's a problem with a few D-Link products (DWL-900,
DI-614+ for example) and doesn't seem to be fixed as yet (although there is
apparently a beta firmware update for the DWL-900 which goes some way to
solving the problem)

If it wasn't for this problem, I'd heartily recommend the DI-614+, as it's
been a very good router in the 6 months I've had one. Unfortunately, the
current problem with my new notebook means I cannot use it wirelessly - a
bit of a drag for a wireless router !

PS - I can never remember whether or not I should 'top post' ; If not :
oops, my apologies !

I have a DL-614+. Works ok, though I had to bypass the dhcp and gateway
addresses it sets on machines and build my own routing on a linux box as I
only have dialup. Not a big deal, I was doing that before with wired
machines temporarily, now I have it set up for perm (or until I get a new
distro of Linux).

Anyways the 614 works fine. The first 2 months I had it, I had to reset
it a few times, but Now that I have had it for almost a year, I havent had
to reset it in a long time.

Side effects from the router include, I have a panasonic 2.4ghz cordless
phone that will ring, you hit the talk button and sometimes it decides
oops, I forgot my sync with the phone base. Fixed by placing phone back
on cradle and picking it up a moment later as it automatically selects
another channel. My father swears the router is the cause of the
disturbance on channel 2. I tell him it's the power supply and the fact
that channel 2 is shit anyways.

I use this ap as well work's very nice so far. A few setting's seem to be
off or not matching defaults in every firmware, but other than that it is
a nice ap.

I have the same exact problem but the US version of the D-Link 614+. Anyone
have a resolution for this yet since I don't want to purchase a new router?
I have updated to the latest firmware.

Mine works fine. Wish my 650+ card worked well without BODing...Using a
Netgear MA401 for now at 11mbps instead of the 22mbps with 650+.
