Here's the story. I have a DI-624 that I plan to use as an access point
only. I want to limit wireless access to devices with the MAC addresses
which I specify. On my DHCP configuration page I've turned off dynamic DHCP
and static DHCP. But still, I am able to gain access to the wireless network
from the aircard in my laptop. The TCP/IP settings in my laptop are set to
dynamically receive an IP address.
I've reset the router, unplugged it, etc., etc., etc. After several hours
with tech support (multiple calls, not came person) the last Level 2 guy I
talked to gave up and said I should get a new router. That's a pain in the
butt, and I'm convinced that there is something incorrectly set which is
causing this. This doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would be caused
by a defect in the unit.
Any ideas as to what the heck is going on?.
