I have on my computer a D-Link DI-514 router.
I am unable to connect to a web site which has a 192.x.x.x IP.
I tned to believe that site is up but that my router is preventing me
from connecting due to 192 subnet conflict.

I experienced this sort of problem some time ago, but forgot have I
corrected it. I think I somehow checked and found that the subnet was
no longer set for 255.255.255.0 and reset it.

However, I cannot recall how I checked and then reset it.

Can anyone help refresh my faulty memory?

Better yet, would someone tell me if they are able to connect to
www.adobe.com. Maybe I do NOT have a problem with my router.

Connects just fine...

Check your hosts file...or rebuild your Winsock.

You'd be unable to access any 192.x.x.x web sites if the computer's
network adapter had a subnet mask of 255.0.0.0. The subnet mask
should be 255.255.255.0, as you say.

To check the subnet mask, go to Start | Run | Winipcfg, select the
network adapter from the menu, and click More Info.

If the computer gets its TCP/IP configuration from the router's
built-in DHCP server, connect to the router's built-in web server
(which is probably at an address like http://192.168.0.1), define the
proper subnet mask, and reboot the computer.

There are multiple versions of the DI-514, so I can't tell you how to
do that. Refer to the User Manual on the CD that came with the
router, or go to this page to get an on-line copy:

My computer connects successfully to http://adobe.com, which has an
IP address of 192.150.14.120.

I feel stupid. I didn't read your response close enough to see that
it refers to the network adapter rather than the router. It WAS the
NIC that had changed to 255.0.0.0 and it took me hours of fiddling
with the router before I realized the problem was with the NIC.
Anyhow all is well now and I made a note of this to file away for next
time.
