Help,
I purchased a D-Link DI-514 wireless router but do not have a DSL or Cable
internet connection, but instead have a phone line based connection for
upload, and satellite for download. I've got a wired hub now with the ISP
connected computer feeding all the other machines.

Did I buy the wrong wireless router?
Is there any way for me to still use this one?

Thanks for anyone that can clarify this.

Regards,
Pesto

No, perfectly fine.

Yes, Disable dhcp on the router, and use the settings you already use on
the pcs with the hub. The gateway and ip addresses shouldnt need to
change.

All those fancy port forwarding, firewall stuff built into the router are
useless in this type of setup so you will need to run your own firewall on
the dialup pc (hopefully you already are)

I do this myself in my home network, my dialup pc is a (redhat) linux box
and the client pc's are a myriad of windows XP, win 95 98 and other random
visitors to my home. I use an iptables firewall with guarddog and
guidedog (X windows apps found through freshmeat.net) for configuration
and on-the-fly changes (new visitor, accept a new ip address). I use nmap
for searching for ports I do not wish to have exposed and netstat to
discover what connections I need to allow when new apps are presented.
