crossover adaptor

I had two computers with one connected directly to the internet, and the
second connected to the internet via a crossover cable to the the first
computer. This meant the second one only had internet access when the
first one was on - not so useful.
I then bought a wireless router, and a wireless card for the second
computer, so the access to the internet for the second computer was
independent. That was okay until I found that our cordless phone
interferes with the wireless connection.
I now want to connect the second computer to the router (which has four
wired connection points). As the cable run is difficult (through voids and
under floors etc) I'd like to try and use the original crossover cable. I
know it won't work as is but is there an adaptor I could fit (or even one
at each end) which would change it to an ordinary LAN cable?(if that is
what they are called?). Any help would be appreciated.

You may be lucky, most modern routers auto sense the cable and will accept
straight through or cross over.

Change the channel your router operates on.

Solwise mains networking plugs. Also, most routers have auto sensing on
the port, meaning it doesn't matter weather you use straight or
crossover CAT5, it works out what cable you have and adjusts itself
accordingly.

We have previously experimented with different channels with no lasting
success. However as suggested the crossover cable is working ok as is,
so thanks for the help guys
