Cron jobs quit working after date change

Hi all,

I changed the date on my Linux box, and afterwards no cron jobs will
run. I've stopped and restarted the cron daemon, but no go. I also
saw someone have this same issue on a Unix newsgroup, but the solution
involved deleting some temp file that doesn't exist on Linux.

Any suggestions? This machine has like 200 days of uptime, so I hate
to reboot it.

Oh, system is Red Hat 7.3 with all updates.

The question is, *how* did the date change? Later or earlier than the mtime
of /etc/crontab?

# touch /etc/crontab

may be all that's necessary.
