Crimps and tools

Hi everyone,

General question:
I can do about everything else on a PC and network, except crimp my own
Cat5E cables. I want to learn. I have researched and there are so many
tools to choose from, I don't know what the best tool is. Combo tool?
Ratcheting or non? Is a cheap tool as good as a better one?? What do the
pro's use?

If someone can provide a link(s) to a good solid crimp tool that is a bit
more professional, in the US, I would appreciate it. I am also interested
in the Plugs and boots as well, but unsure what's best in that department
either. Hopefully I won't have more then about $70.00 at most into all
this.

OT:
Also interested in terminating cable and Sat ends too (RG-6). I have a HEX
crimp tool and have been doing them for sometime, but not entirely happy
with it. I see there's many different types of connectors now too, unlike
before. Triple shielded, Quad, Snap and Seal, Lock and Seal, and so on.
What do the professionals use like at the cable company or elsewhere?

In short, I want the best possible connections for Cable, phone and network
and need some advice and links.

Thank you everyone for your input!!

TIA,

Doug

The Ideal crimping tool works fine for me
http://www.cablestogo.com/product.as...engine=froogle
More importantly is having a good lan tester to verify the cables you make
up
