Hi
A typical Wireless Router has 4 ports for wire, and an additional Wireless
capacity.
You can connect the two computers to the Router via wire, or one wireless
and one wire, or both Wireless, or what ever combination you would like.
Once the two computers are connect to the Router they would share the
Internet connection.
Configuring File Sharing on each computer would enable them to connect one
to the other and share files as well.

You need a wireless adapter for each computer. And unless the second
computer is Win98se (second edition), I'd advise against trying to do
this. There is no built-in wireless LAN support in Windows 98 and I'm
not sure how much, if any, manufacturer support there was for wifi in 98
(original). Linksys, for example, says that its current adapters, at
least, need 98se.

If you do go ahead, make sure before you buy the adapters that they come
with a driver for your version of Windows.

Take a few minutes to go through this Linksys "tutorial"
