Creating AP with Linksys BEFW11S4

I recently added wireless capability to my network by replacing my four port router with the BEFW11S4 (which has four wired ports along with wireless). Now I want to move it closer to the laptops with wireless adapters for better signal strength. After I reinstall the original router (between the cable modem and the main hub/switch) can I configure the wireless router to act as an access point and plug it into a secondary hub on the network? It seems like it should work if I reconfigure the wireless router to point to the main router's IP, etc. Has anyone setup this kind of configuration?

"How do I connect a Linksys Wireless router to a regular Ethernet Linksys
router?"
You want to connect the Linksys "LAN", not the "WAN" to the other switch.

Or you can set the BEFW11S4 to be a simple router if it is a recent
firmware level. "Setup Tab - Advanced Routing - Operating Mode".
Then you would connect to the WAN port.

Thanks for the reply - that worked just fine. I've cut the
distance between the wireless units in half and overall the
signal is much stronger, but it still fluctuates a lot. Is
that normal?

The fluctuations appear normal in my system. OTOH, I do not know if it
is the router, the wireless card, the XP (I have my suspicions...), the
signal mapping, etc. I can make an "excellent" wireless signal
disappear by rotating the receiving laptop by just a few degrees in the
horizontal plane.
