The fluctuations appear normal in my system. OTOH, I do not know if it
is the router, the wireless card, the XP (I have my suspicions...), the
signal mapping, etc. I can make an "excellent" wireless signal
disappear by rotating the receiving laptop by just a few degrees in the
horizontal plane.
