cordless phone

Hello all,

I didn't find any group more related to cordless phones than this one, so I
shoot my question. It is about FSSS cordless phones from Siemens.
Even the phone/base "hope" frequencies to stay tune together, is the voice
transmission still analog or the voice is also digitallized?

The voice transmission is digital. It takes a small time to resyncronize
between hops and an analog transmission would suffer from these small gaps.
An analog solution would be to compress the voice using a bucket-brigade
line and send it in a hop time frame then decompress it to fill the gap.
But then it is easier to do this by "digitalizing" the voice and that't the
way it's done.
