I have bought a new computer which runs XP whilst my old
one runs 98.I have managed to link the two by direct
serial cable connection which works. However, I cannot
find nor can I persuade 98 to create a My Briefcase
file.I have followed the help file but Windows
explorer>double click on file where want to create new
Briefcase>New>New briefcase does not appear as an
option.Any suggestions would be very welcome in this
regard or is there any other way of copying files short
of using floppy or zip?

Please help

Glyn

To make My Briefcase appear on 98, go to Control Panel | Add/Remove
Programs | Windows Setup | Accessories and install Briefcase.

If you only want to transfer files once, consider using XP's FAST
(File and Settings Transfer) Wizard to transfer them over the serial
cable connection. On XP, click Start | All Programs | Accessories |
System Tools | File and Settings Transfer Wizard.
