Hi, we have two networked PCs at a remote location connected to the WAN by a
business class DSL line and a wired linksys router. We need to convert
from DSL to T1. What kind of router will we need at the remote site and
what kind of router will we need on the home network?

I need to come up w/ estimated costs of the hardware needed to get this
project moving.

Thanks,

Jack

I believe in the server room there is a T1 gateway and whatever else is
needed. I really need cost for the remote side.

Hi Jack,

It depends on which ISP you're going to use for the T1. They can give you a
CSU/DSU or some other type of box which you connect to your existing router
directly via RJ45. In that scenario, the cost of the "box" could be included
as part of your T1 package so won't actually have to buy any new hardware.
Talk to the potential ISPs about this and ask them how you can keep using
your existing Linksys router if you go with at T1. I've done this before for
a small firm, so I know it's possible.

Much thanks Mel, that's what I thought. Somebody else was telling told me
the cost was very high.
