Console app to display stats

Not 100% related to linux networking, but does anyone know of a console app
that displays realtime information such as network throughput, system
statistics etc full screen for output to a monitor?

There are a few my personal preference is 'iptraf' for a rapid
checking, try rpmseek.com for packages, or/and
http://iptraf.seul.org/ (iptraf homepage)

Not sure what you have in mind -- server monitoring or net gaming or
.... -- but this Google web search string turned up 3000+ hits:

linux console display realtime network stats

Have no recent experience with straight console (ie., plain text) net
monitoring except the odd occassion with routers -- everything else
via logs or GUI stats/graphs.
