connection problem with Intel Pro 2100 wireless & Dlink router (strange!!)

Hi,

I recently got a new laptop (Acer 800lci) with built-in wireless Intel
Pro 2100. I get very good reception to the access point (Dlink 614+)
but problem is, when transferring large files from the network or
surfing, I get very frequent connection dropouts. It's almost as if
the connection is 'broken' every few minutes. It reconnects after
that, but this is very annoying

I tried upgrading the router firmware, but this didn't help. I got the
problem when running the laptop with batteries AND on AC power. I also
checked the power consumption for the card and set it to 'highest' but
this didn't help either

I'm really at a loss here!! Mind, the dropouts even happen when I have
EXCELLENT reception!

Did you set the output of your 614+ to 100%, it comes default at 25%.
