Connection to domain

Our small server connectiong 4 machines including my
laptop is able to see my machine and also share the files
in my machine. However I am unable to browse the network
or see any machine. Pinging produces proper replies. Also
able to browse internet through the server which acts as a
proxy server. I use a Xircom modem and TCP/IP, NETBeui had
been installed properly. Can anyone give me idea on how I
should tackle this problem. Thanks in advance
