I am trying to create links to a windows directory on a Mac. I am trying to
display a link on Sharepoint and have a shared folder or a document in that
folder be displayed. It works fine from a PC
To access that folder form a Mac you need to connect as
smb://servername/foldername; Sharepoint doesnt recognize that as a link and
the browsers(Camini,Firefox and Safari) don't understand smb as supported
protocol.

Any ideas how to do this?

Hello themush1326,

What if you create the link like this:

\\servername\sharedfolder or \\ipaddress\sharedfolder

Thats the way I have it configured that works on a PC, on Mac that link is
not clickable and the browsers don't reconzie it if I directly type it in the
browser

Hello themush1326,

Is it an option for you to share that folder as FTP and create the link with
ftp://servername/sharename ?

that maybe possible but there is a larger issue with the links
The search result from any windows share produces results as file://servername
that makes none of the links clickable on any mac compatible browser.
