Windows XP SP3 workgroup?
What are the steps required?

Hello Gum,

What do you mean with connect to workgroup? If you mean to use a share on
a XP machine, you can if you enter the correct username/password. Also you
have to check your firewall that it is not blocking some traffic, same on XP.

Maybe you describe more detailed what you are trying to achive and the error
messages you get.

BTW, running a BETA, like 2008 R2, in production domain is not a good idea.

Best regards

I wanted to connect the domain to theworkgroup, but found it easier to
connect the Windows Server 2008 to the existing WinXP workgroup.

Thanks for the advice regarding using the domain from a beta, perhaps that
advice saves me much effort.

Hello Gum,

You can not connect a domain to a workgroup or vice versa, you can connect
workgroup computer with domain computers.
