I have installed win 2k server with sp3.....when i try to
connect to win 2k server i get the error message as "no
domain server is available to validate your password". But
i am able to ping to the server......if i try connecting a
win 2k professional machine or win xp machine to the win
2k server i am not getting any errors.
Do i need to update anything in my win 98 or win 2k server
machince to login to the win2k server from win 98 machine.

Any suggestions ...........pls let me know

Try this:

Go to Active Directory Users and Computers,
under "domain controllers", right-clicked it, properties,
Group Policy, Edit. Then it opened the GPO for the Domaind
Controllers. I then opened the Computer configuration ->
Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies ->
Security Options, and modified the following parameters:

Digitally Sign server Communications always) -> Set to
DISABLED
Secure channel: Digitally encrypt or sign secure channel
data -> Set to DISABLED

After making these changes type "secedit /refreshpolicy
machine_policy /enforce"
to apply the Group Policy change immediately.

Another thing you should do is to install the DSCLIENT.EXE
in your Windows 98 clients (it is in the Windows 2000
Server CD) to enable those clients to access all Active
Directory resources.

I hope this helps.
