In an effort to keep miles (okay, yards) of Ethernet cable off my floor, I've
decided to set my Dell (which is on the other side of the room) up to a
wireless router/AP and get it to talk to the wireless router on the other side
of the room. I've hit a snag, though, and the two AP's aren't talking to each
other. Just to get this out of the way, both AP's are the BWA611* from
iBlitzz.
Here's what I know. Both AP's work. I can get my PocketPC to talk to both of
them (not at the same time), and I can type in their IP's to get to the
configuration menu. I know they are on the same Class-C IP address, because I
changed them both. I know the ESSID, Channel ID, and Transfer Rate for both of
them are the same; the device names and IP's, however, are different. I also
don't have any encryption on either (for now), so I don't think that's a
problem.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get my two AP's to talk? Can two AP's
talk to each other, or do I need to put a wireless card in my PC and let it
bridge the two networks? My Windows machine, which I would have to put the
wireless PCI card into, has no spare slots. If I could avoid having such a
bridge, it would be great.
Any help would be hot and very much appreciated.
