Connecting to a a share on another domain

Or organisation uses two domains. Though the username's and passwords are the
same in both domains (obviously the domain prefix canges) I have problems
connecting to shares in a domain if I log into a machine on the other domain.

If the share is on a domain controller there is no problem. If the share is
a workstation, or more importantly on a member server, then I am prompted to
enter a username and password. This is causing some problems.

Any idea why or how to stop it?

You can't access the workstation until you add the domain username to the
local computer. For a test, you should be able to access the workstation use
this command: net use \\workskation
/u:workstationhostname\workstationusername.

I think I'd already looked into that. It still prompts for a password.

1. Setup a trust between the Domains

2. Eliminate all "duplicate" accounts.

3. Grant permissions to resources directly to the Accounts/Groups you want.

Thought that might be the answer.. I'll give it a go.
Any idea why it will connect to shares on Domain Controllers fine, but not
those on Workstations/Member Server?

Not sure. It's probably not something I ever would have even tried. I would
have just did it the way I described with the Trust right from the start,
plus the Trust would have just been the first method that would have came to
mind anyway.
