Hello (again),
How do I connect a Linux system into the phone network, so it can send AND
receive texts?

Thanks,

Schewdent.

Don't know if this is any good for you, but Alamin GSM SMS Gateway
(http://www.alamin.org/en/index.html) is probably something you should
check. In the past, I have done couple of SMS alerters using Alamin and
Nokia Communicator hooked to /dev/ttyS0.

If you can get your GSM connected to a PC or server, have a look at
http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/g...kia_AThelp.pdf. AT Commands
needed are pretty simple, so if nothing else you can always script your own
interface for it. I haven't tried those ATs on other phones than Nokia's, so
YMMV.
