How are you trying to connect from Win98SE to Win2000? What exactly
happens when you do it? If there's an error message or a logon
prompt, what does it say?

Win2000 always checks the user name and password of the logged-in user
on another computer that requests access. It isn't possible to run
Win2000 without a user name, although the password can be blank.

Creating a user account on Win2000 with the same user name and
password that you use to log into Win98SE could fix the problem.
