I am trying to network two computers in my home. The main
computer is a Compaq Presario AMD K6-2 with MultiMedia
Extentions, 300MH. This computer has Windows ME version
installed. The second computer is a Gateway 2000,434 MH,
80MB RAM and has windows 98 installed. We have cable
connection, and are using a HUB. The Gateway is using a
SMC EZ 10/100 1211TX Ethernet Controller. The Compaq is
using a Realtek RTL8139(A)-based PCI Ethernet Controller.

I have two different unique names for each computer. I
have the Workgroup on both MSHOME. I have ran the Home
Networking Wizard. The problem that I can't seem to
figure out, nor find help with, is when I try to log onto
the network I get the following message:

"No domain server was available to validate your password."

Can someone PLEASE help me???

Go to Control Panel | Network, double click Client for Microsoft
Networks in the list of network components, and un-check the "Log on
to Windows NT domain" box.
