Hello,

Here is the problem, I had to unplug my motorola broadband router the
other day. Now that I have re-plugged in my broadband router I cannot
remember in what order to connect everything to get the wireless base
station up and running. The only thing connected to the base station is
my laptop - wirelessly. Every time I try to computer sees the wireless
connect but cannot access the internet. If anyone could please be of
assistance I would be forever grateful!

Thanks a bunch!
Steph

This newsgroup supports Microsoft Broadband Networking hardware and software
only, Steph, but try removing the power from both the modem and router.
Then plug in the modem first, and let it sync with your Internet Service
Provider. Then, when the router plugged into the proper port on the modem,
plug its power cord in, and it should sync with the modem. If you have
further issues, I would contact your ISP and have them guide you through the
process.

Good deal. Glad it is working for you. As a future note, if you happen to
"lose" the internet connection through your ISP at any time, the first thing
to do is that routine. Remove the power from both your router and modem.
Let it sit a minute or so, then re-power the modem, let it sync, then power
up the base station, and let it sync. If there's an error (like the service
itself is down) you can generally tell by the lights on the modem. In that
case, you can call the support section for the provider and let them know.
Sometimes a "lost" Internet connection is caused by a simple software update
on "their" side, and restarting the modem will have it request the new
software and then it will be functional and able to talk with whatever it
connects to on their side.
