I am currently having trouble connecting my Mac to a Windows 2003 Small
Business Server. The Mac is running OSX and will not connect because
it refuses the username/password which I know to be correct as I
successfully enter it on Windows machines. I have installed the
AppleTalk protocol on the server as well as File services for Mac which
still soesn't work. I also set the group policy "Send unencrypted
passwords to third-party SMB servers" to enable which still didn't
work.

Does anyone know of anything which could solve this ?

Many thanks in advance

Is your domain name in the format domain.local. If so, Macs can have a
problem finding things with .local rather than a .com or .net.

For more information see:

you can ensure that your File Services for Macintosh is set to do Apple Clear
Text authentication... do this through Computer Management GUI, right-click
on 'Shared Folders'. I just dealt with a case like this today.
Good luck-
