Connecting To Mac Computer

On my last computer, I could connect to my dad's computer,
which is a Mac, and download files from my laptop onto his
desktop. My last computer broke and I just got a new one
(this is the first message I've posted with it !!!). I'm
trying to hook it up to the same network connection that I
had before but the Sharing tab in the folder menus aren't
there. I followed the instructions in the computer help
files but it didn't work. Can anyone help me figure this
out ? I don't have a cd burner and the only way for me to
make one is to put the files on another computer and burn
the disc from there. Please help !

I got the file sharing option to appear, and can share
files now, but I still have a problem. I lost the paper
that I wrote down on how to get the file sharing to work.
Can anyone tell my how to do it ?
