Connecting To Internet Using DSL Modem

I have a desktop and laptop. I recently used wireless
connect on my laptop. When I went back and tried to use
my DSL line with my laptop, I couldn't get a connection.
Yet the DSL line works fine with the desktop. Any ideas
what I can do to make the DSL line work with the laptop?
