Hi Nelson,
ISA server is a firewall and a proxy server. You don't get these features
with pure Windows 2003. While you can use Windows 2003 (or Windows 2000, or
Windows XP for that matter) using NAT and routing service to go from LAN to
Internet there is no way to achieve security level that ISA can provide.
If you need high security for your network and proxy service you will have
to get ISA (or some other product that can do these tasks).
Note, that you can run ISA 2000 on Windows 2003 server.
