Connecting to internet with Router to Windows 98: need help

Sorry for the long title, I'm new and I needed help on getting my
computer (old one) connected to the internet through my router. What do
I need to do?

We need some details.

What kind of internet connection do you have? DSL or Cable? Dynamic or
static IP assigned?

What router do you have? Brand and model.

Does your computer have a NIC (network card) already installed?

Do you want to use a wireless NIC or hard wired?
