Our office just got a Watchguard Firebox Edge X15....

The way this system is set up, the Firebox is a DHCP server, and it handles
all of the firewall operations via the system hardware. I could connect ALL
of my XP Pro/98/95/Me machines just great to this thing, but I can't get my
Server 2K3 Standard to connect to the internet/obtain an IP/ANYTHING. Is
there some configuration for the 2K3 machine that's so different?

I DON'T have AD, DHCP server, DNS server, or RRAS installed on this server
at all anymore...so I'm just trying to get it to act like it's a normal
computer.

What's the ipconfig from the server? Is it set for DHCP?

When you say "anymore" what do you mean - you dcpromo'd the box back to a
standalone server and that went smoothly? What is the intended purpose of
this box now? In general, although DHCP should work fine, you shouldn't use
dynamic addresses on servers. Set a static address that isn't in your DHCP
range.

That said, what did you do/check - set it to receive an IP address
automatically, and then try ipconfig /renew? ipconfig /all gives you what?

The older Firebox SOHO units (predecessors to the Edge X line) had a
limit on how many outbound Internet connections were allowed, i.e.,
only 10 connections outbound, then all other connections refused. A
customer of mine was having this problem when desktop clients were
making DNS queries to outside DNS servers in an attempt to resolve an
internal name (and failing); then, other computers trying to make
user-initiated Internet connections were failing. The SOHO had to be
rebooted in order to clear the connections.

I would check the license on your X15 to see how many simultaneous
outbound connections are supported, and then compare that against how
many PCs are configured on the network.

HTH.
