Connecting the DI-614+ to the DI-604

I wanted to bring the wireless signal from the 614+ up from my
basement to the 1st floor by injecting a 604 router. I read that the
614+ is both a router(which I have used for some time now) and an AP.
So I went out and bought the 604 and connected it up (it works), used
a port to connect the 614+ which I moved upstairs (so I can have a
stronger signal), and now the 614+ does not connect to the internet. I
get the two thinkpads to ping each other, but no ping externally.

I set the 604 to DHCP between 192.168.0.100 to 109. It detects the
614+ and assigned it 100. Fired up my to Thinkpads on DWL650 wireless
cards (which I have had, and were working). Connected to the 614+ Web
Config interface (no issues there), and configured the DHCP to assign
192.168.0.110 to 120 (just so the two routers do not crash IP's).

I installed all the latest firmwares, for both the 604 & 614+ and
rebooted the 614+ and the Thinkpads many times, so I am wondering can
the 614+ do what I was hoping it would do....????

Any insight on how i configured or that these 2 do not work that way
would be greatly appreciated....
