I have to connect 2 networks.
One of which is an NT4 network and one is a windows 2003 network. (2
different domains)
I understand that I have to connect both via trusts.
On the NT4 network there are applications running that must be used on
the 2003 network. Is this possible??
Maybe anyone has some tips for me.

thx Ramon

Hi Miha,

THX very good document.

Maybe you also now an answer about this. One domain is called domain.com and
the other is called
pilot.domain.com. So now i have got the situation where domain must trust
domain. I'm wondering if microsoft
will have problems with this situation!!

What are NetBIOS names of both domains? Is it domain and pilot or is it
something else?

NETBIOS names form both domains = test.

one domain = test.org (NT4)
another domain = pilot.test.org (w2003)

Is it also that I have to insert another nic in the servers?

Hi,

I don't think it's possible to connect two domains with same NetBIOS names.
You can rename NT domain or Win2K3 domain if it is in native mode.

There is no need for second NIC in server. One is enough for this scenario.

Then it won't work.

Domains have nothing to do with NICs and have nothing to do with physical
design at all.

OK but if the the domains must trust each other how can one domain
find the other if they are not in the same subnet?
Via DNS??
