Tray icon on WinXP XP2 laptop indicates "connected" to public free wireless
at local library.
But sometimes cannot browse the Internet - both IE6 and Firefox 3.0.3 report
"cannot
find server". Randomly and issue fixes itself after a while.
Cannot ping or traceroute.
Changing DNS servers from default to FreeDNS servers sometimes does work but
only temporarily.
Connection to home wireless network as well as that of other places work
perfectly.
Other users at the library do not have this problem.
Any insights greatly appreciated.

Can you ping a public IP for example 4.2.2.1?

Hi
When you can Not use the Internet you probably are Not really connected to
the Library Wireless source.
Try to totally clean the Wireless Preferred List in the Wireless Menus, and
make sure that every thing is checked in the way that you are using the
Wireless.
