I'm installing a Windows Server 2003 NAS box. We are a small shop
with no domain, just a workgroup and don't use any permissioning.

I want to be able to connect to the server shares from XP clients
without getting asked for a password. I'd rather not create the same
logins on the server as some of the PC's use the Administrator login
locally.

Is there some way to just turn off logins on the shares and just let
anyone connect?

Have you tired turning on the "guest" account on the nas box?

It is what users who don't sucessfully auto-authenticate connect as.
"Best practices" have said to disable it becuase of this, and I think it's
auto-disabled on Win2003.
Since you want a golobaly accessable disk it should do what you want as long
as you make sure it explicity has access to the shares and files.
