How can I connect to another win98 via network w/o windows loaded? It's and
old broken system and I cannot load or reinstall windows - I have win98
command prompt only.

It depends on what you have available, and what you need to accomplish.

TELNET and FTP spring to mind.

Boot the broken system from a CD-resident operating system that
supports networking, such as BartPE or Knoppix.

If you just want to copy the broken system's files to another
computer, take the hard disk out and mount it in the other computer.

Hi!
Available - comand prompt of win98.
In 3.11 it was possible with a net.exe - maybe it's worth trying - to find a
copy of old net.exe?

There is no CD in the system - it is burned. What are these OS and where can
I get them?

I am afraid to do just that.

1) When mounting a HD in another computer is always a risk of data loss.

2) Dont have docs for this HD - it's Quantum Fireball EX 10.2 AT

Then you'd need to install a working CD drive.

A web search for "BartPE" and "Knoppix" using Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.
will show you lots of sites about them, including:

Bart's Preinstalled Environment (BartPE) bootable live windows CD/DVD

Knoppix

Yes, there's a small risk. I'd practice with a non-essential disk
drive first. You'd need to connect the drive to a spare power
connector and IDE connector in the other computer. It might also be
necessary to re-jumper the drive setting for slave/master. Most disk
drives that I've seen have a diagram on the drive itself showing the
jumper settings. A web search for "Quantum Fireball EX 10.2 AT" will
show you lots of sites about it, including:

Here's another possible solution: if you have access to another
Windows 98 computer, you can make a DOS Network Boot Floppy, as shown
here:
