Yes, there's a small risk. I'd practice with a non-essential disk
drive first. You'd need to connect the drive to a spare power
connector and IDE connector in the other computer. It might also be
necessary to re-jumper the drive setting for slave/master. Most disk
drives that I've seen have a diagram on the drive itself showing the
jumper settings. A web search for "Quantum Fireball EX 10.2 AT" will
show you lots of sites about it, including:

Here's another possible solution: if you have access to another
Windows 98 computer, you can make a DOS Network Boot Floppy, as shown
