Hello,
I am currently purchased a belkin f5d6231-4 wireless/wired cable/dsl
gateway router 802.11b.
I am having no problem getting my two computer network which one is a
win98 and the other is a windows xp home.
The problem that I am having is since I don't have dsl/cable in my area
I can't get the router to act as a gateway to let both computers to dial out
to the internet.
After speaking to tech support he told me something that I would have to
turn off the dchp and use the internet connection sharing but after reading
the manual it says that I need a static Ip which I don't have.
The problem here is that I would like to do the router setup all on my
win98 if possible.
If anyone can explain to me with some step by step instructions on what
to do that sure would be appreciated.

i am in the same situation, i bought a router which accept a dsl connection
and/or a dial up connection ( netgear fwg114p), all is ok.
for you i dont know a good solution. you can connect your dial up modem to
one pc, then this pc to the router. but to connect the other pc to internet
you must have the first pc running, bad.
if you can change your router, it would be better.

Try WinProxy. Run it on the machine that access the dial-up
connection, and that PC will now be your gateway to the internet.

I used it before getting broadband, and it did the trick just fine.
If the modem isn't online when you try to access the internet from a
remote computer, it will dial up the connection.

Does your router have a serial port, if so you can connect a modem to
it.
