Good morning.

If this is the wrong forum for this type of question, please if
someone can direct me in to the right one, I would appreciate it.

I am trying to build two Windows 2003 Servers that will host all our
DNS and DHCP services. I am working on DNS replication right nwo and
would prefer to replicate all my DHCP scopes as well. My
understanding from what I have read is that this just isn't going to
happen. So I decided that I would like to try clustering these two
servers with the thought that more may be added to the cluster later.
This will allow us to do some load balancing as well, correct?

I am trying to get some instructions on how to accomplish this. Plus,
do I need to load my current scopes in the other server or will it
synchronize?

Thank you.

Hello Dwane,

DO you have 2003 Enterprise edition? That is a minimum reqiurement. How many
scopes do you have?

I am guess 100+ scopes. Does this mean that I have to have the DHCP
server set up in an Active Directory enviornment? Also, do this mean
I have to break it down to 80/20 or will both servers have the same
scopes on them? Also, I plan on using these same servers as my DNS.
Will this affect the way I have to set up the DHCP servers?

Is there a way that I can infiltrate one server and have the other
server see the new changes as well?

Thanks

Dwane
