Configuring a 2nd DHCP Scope on one DHCP server

My one DHCP server is running low on IP addresses. We use a C class
subnet and I would like to add a second scope to the same DHCP server as the
1st scope. I increased the 3rd octet by one for the new scope and configure
it the same as the 1st scope. We only have 1 router.
I setup a test workstation and configured it with a static IP for the
new scope. While I was able to log on I could not find the network, connect
to the Internet, or ping the router. I tried setting up a Super Scope but
that didn't work either. Any suggestions as to how to configure the 2nd scope
that would be on the same network as the first?

You really shouldn't have segments over 250-300 hosts (class C gives 254).
Ethernet is broadcast intensive and when you get above that number of hosts
it starts to become inefficient. Remember it isn't all about IP#s,...you've
got two more OSI Layers below that to worry about. You should add another
segment to the LAN with a LAN Router between the segments.

But the direct answer to the question is to record the specs (options and
things) of your existing Scope,...delete it and then recreate it with the
correct Range and Mask, then re-enter the Options.

But you really should just add a new physical segment to the LAN. Then add a
new Scope to the DHCP for it and then configure the LAN Router to forward
the DHCP Queries.
