Hi.

I have a USB network card.

it is like this.

USB|-------------------|Network Port

I connect it with my USB port. On the other side, I connect a network
cable
from the hub.

Now, tell me how to configure it.
I give "ifconfig eth0 <ip address>" for network card.
here what is the device name?

I checked /var/log/messeges while plugging the devices.
It does not tell any device name under /dev.

help me.

dear,
T.Shrinivasan.

It is odd that there is no log entry at all. Perhaps you missed it?
Even if your distro does not recognize the particular model of USB
device, there should at least be complaints to that effect in the log.

Post the model of the device. Maybe someone has experience with that
particular model.

Network interfaces are not listed under /dev. Try "ifconfig -a".
